Today I have been working in the studio preparing for a course I am teaching next week with Liz Luckwell down at St Ives School of Painting. It's based on Terry Frost and I will be teaching screen printing from Wednesday pm, if anyone is interested please book via their website - http://www.stivesartschool.co.uk
Responding to Terry Frost
Start Date: Monday 22/10/2012 Duration: 5 day(s)
The vibrant work of Cornish artist Terry Frost with his distinctive blend of bright colours, clean shapes and playful compositions will be the inspiration for this course. A prominent part of the St. Ives school that included Ben Nicholson and Barbara Hepworth, Frost grounded his work in the real world and his own sensations and experiences. Students will use the local environment for inspiration and learn to create work brimming with colour and light through a combination of painting, collage and simple bold screenprinting.Tutors: Liz Luckwell and Lesley Plumridge (Fee includes lunch on last day at Tate St Ives and materials)
Other than that I have been working on a new journal where I am trying to be messy. I find it hard sometimes to really let go and not worry about the end project just enjoy the journey, but I am getting better.
I will be uploading my efforts in the next few days.
I also feel like stitching and have finally organised the studio so I have a sewing area again, but still have mountains of fabric to go through and organise and then I can start making again.
At the Exchange in Penzance we have the Bruce Lacey experience which is a show covering his life works. He has made some amazing assemblaqes that I really like and has got me looking at robots that people have made on Pinterest, they are fab and I have been inspired to have a go myself, so watch the mixed media page as shortly they will be appearing.

I work for Newlyn Art Gallery and The Exchange in Penzance, Cornwall. I graduated from University College Falmouth in 2005 with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Textile Design.
On the personal side, I have a wonderful husband herein known as Matey and a darling black cat called Maxie. I have a passion for the arts and I try to create each day, which to be honest is sometimes hard going. I screen print, sew, knit, make books and journals, and love mixed media and collage.
I hope that you will join me in this art/creative world that I live in...
